UNSW is one of the largest and most prestigious universities in Australia, with world-class campuses.

UNSW: Australia's Global University

Established in 1949 with a unique focus on the scientific, technological and professional disciplines, UNSW is a leading Australian university committed to making a difference through pioneering research and preparing the next generation of talented global citizens for career success.

Over 50,000 students from 120 countries worldwide currently study at UNSW. The University celebrates its many international and local alumni, and welcomes students from all over Australia and from all corners of the globe.

Whether you’re a local, rural, interstate or overseas student, at UNSW you’ll have the freedom to be yourself, move to the beat of your own drum and take control of your future.

You’re independent, but far from alone.

UNSW is divided into 9 faculties, in addition to the Graduate Research School. Each faculty is independently responsible for the administration of programs they offer. You can contact the faculties directly to discuss your individual program or to learn more about a particular area of study.

UNSW is a real community. It’s close to the beach and there are so many amenities available either on campus or just a short walk away.

Studying at UNSW

Courses will generally involve a combination of lectures and tutorials, although some courses will vary. Assessments will occur throughout the semester in the form of assignments (individual and/or group), participation reports, tests and/or exams. End of semester exams occur both on campus and at Randwick Racecourse, depending on your course. English and bi-lingual dictionaries are permitted in an exam other than a language exam. Some courses may permit ‘authorised material’ including lecture notes, molecular models, approved calculators and texts as prescribed.
